About
Delta Thermo Energy is a leader in delivering the world’s first sustainable Green Waste to Fuel™ systems for industry and community. Uniquely, our internationally patented and U.S. patent pending Hydrothermal Decomposition technology enables our systems to convert municipal solid waste into a clean-burning fuel that produces Near Zero emissions. Our modern systems reduce costs and pollution within existing waste processing plants, protect the environment and help to return clean energy to the community. Our markets include industrial manufacturers and small to mid-sized communities across the world.
Delta Thermo Energy was founded in 2011 with a vision to develop and deliver a truly sustainable and green Zero Emissions waste processing plant. Landfills make less sense, legacy incinerators that burn municipal solid waste pollute our air, water and food, and the use of fossil fuels for power generation continues to destroy our environment.
Delta Thermo Energy’s team has developed a sustainable Green Waste to Fuel™ process that for once can address what has been an insurmountable challenge. That challenge is the simple fact that almost every community on the planet produce more pollution and waste by-products than they can successfully recycle and process. This cycle is not sustainable over the long term.
We all share this planet, we all breathe the same air, and we all drink the same water. We’re committed to sustainable Green Waste to Fuel™ process and we believe it is the best way to keep our environment clean and safe for generations to come.
Green Waste to Fuel™ is not Waste-to-Energy. Waste-to-Energy generally produces more pollution in the combustion of minimally processed municipal solid waste and requires more landfill space at the end of the process. The production of electricity by Waste-to-Energy plants is certainly far better than just incineration of the trash, but in the long run also represents an unsustainable strategy as it is based on burning municipal solid waste.
We convert it to a clean burning fuel first.
Delta Thermo Energy uniquely has combined patented and patent pending technology from partners around the world to design and build our Green Waste to Fuel™ systems and Green Waste to Fuel™ to Energy plants. No other company in the world has the technology to deliver this capability within the United States. No other company can process municipal solid waste and sewage sludge with near Zero Emissions, deliver an end product which is classified as a fuel and burns cleaner than coal, requires almost no landfill capacity and then produces clean electricity.
We convert it to a clean burning fuel first.
We process both municipal solid waste and sewage sludge, without harmful emissions and without producing harmful end-products that require landfill space. We deliver engineered fuel and enable the production of electricity. DTE Green Waste to Fuel™ systems and our core technology Hydrothermal Decomposition provide an entirely different process than most commercial waste-to-energy incineration, synfuels, plasma gasification, or anything else.
The thermal processing system, known as the Resource Recycling System (“RRS”), was originally developed by the Hokuto Kougyo Co.(Hokuto) of Japan, one of our key partners, for the sterilization of medical wastes. The Complete Combustion Chamber system (“CCC”) a technology developed by Jasper in Germany, another key partner, is used for the combustion of processed waste such as MSW, biomass and industrial wastes. The RRS system generates wastewater which must be treated before discharge to a municipalities wastewater treatment plant. The Waste Treatment System (“WTS”) is a technology developed by ETC of South Korea for the treatment of industrial wastewater. Delta Thermo also incorporates conventional equipment for receiving, sorting, shredding and storing MSW prior to treatment and combustion as well as conventional heat recovery and steam turbine equipment for recovering useful energy from the combustion process. Advanced quality and air pollution control systems are also incorporated to meet or exceed state and federal permitting requirements.
Tipping fees can substantially remain in your town where the waste was generated. Unpredictable and unbudgeted tipping fee increases are eliminated. Large regional landfills are most often privately owned. The revenue they produce does not remain in the community that generated the waste. Tipping fees at regional landfills are based on levels of competition from other regional landfills and may not be related to the cost of disposal. Because of long-term contracts and a fixed debt repayment structure, Green Waste to Fuel™ to Energy facilities offer stable and predictable tipping fees for municipal waste. Large regional landfills, usually privately owned, compete with other landfills for waste and the resulting tipping fees can at times be unpredictable.
Finally, the economy of the community is enhanced.
